The program The Day After of Movistar + revealed The conversation between Martínez Munuera and Kylian Mbappe about the yellow card which was shown to the striker in the 32nd minute of the first half, in what was a 4-1 victory for Real Madrid against Espanyol of Barcelona. How was it?
The star was fighting for an aerial ball with defender Kumbulla and the forward put his arm slightly behind his opponent’s back, which slightly disoriented him and prevented him from heading the ball cleanly. The referee called a foul on the attack and Mbappé did not like that at all, so he raised his arm in a sign of disagreement but what he did not count on was that for the referee this sign of disapproval was enough to give him a yellow card.
“It’s disrespectful to do that to me,” the referee told the Frenchman, making a gesture of raising his arm. “I’m not saying anything… I’m not saying anything… But I’m not talking, I’m not talking!” Mbappé replied. To which the referee replied: “It’s disrespectful, Kylian.”
The Frenchman continued to insist to the referee that he had done nothing to deserve a warning. “I’m not telling you anything there… just the gesture”the Gallic star commented. “It is a disdain”land the referee reproached him. But the ‘9’ of Real Madrid continued: “But talk to me… You can’t give me a card like that.”
The conversation continued in the tunnel to the dressing rooms at the end of the first half. Munuera Montero tried to explain to Mbappé that the gesture he made was not correct. “It was a very ugly gesture and you made me do this (gesturing with his arm again). It’s not just what we say, it’s also what we do with our bodies.”
That was the last thing that was seen and there were no hard feelings, since in the second half the match developed normally and the referee ended up cautioning not only Kylian, but also Vinicius, Bellingham and Federico Valverde.
