Columnist Rosa Palo (Esther Baeza Navarro) is among the finalists to win the XLIII Julio Camba Afundación International Prize for Journalism. The author is nominated for her article ‘Ex’ of her published in the newspaper LA VERDAD. Together with her, they are also opting for the Manuel de Lorenzo Paradela award, for ‘Límites’, in El Progreso; and Alberto Olmos, for ‘When we even take the snow personally’, at Elconfidencial.com.
The jury, made up of Alfredo Conde, Cristina Sánchez-Andrade, Bibiana Candia, Gervasio Posadas, Ramón Pernas and Isaac González, highlighted the “high number of participants and the notable presence of authors of international origin, who enrich this award with their contributions, a contest already veteran in the Spanish journalistic panorama». Alfredo Conde, president of the jury, stressed «the complexity in the selection of the three finalist articles, given the high quality of the papers presented. As a jury, it is our responsibility to decide which texts meet the parameters required for journalistic opinion articles and literary journalism.
All those texts included in the genre of literary journalism or in the opinion article could be submitted to this call, with the only condition that only one text per signer could attend that had been collected between January 1 and December 31. December 2021 in any media, printed or digital, of recognized headers. The prize is endowed with 10,000 euros.
