The establishment of speed controls by the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard is part of the objectives of the Road Safety Strategy adopted by the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) for the decade 2021-2030, as one of the priorities oriented to the reduction of the accident rate on our roads, especially on conventional or secondary roads, given that speeding, on the one hand considerably increases the risk of suffering traffic accidents, and on the other they are factors that directly affect the mortality and the severity of injuries sustained.
In this sense, the Traffic Sector of the Civil Guard of Murcia recalls that it continues to carry out its specific road safety surveillance activity 24 hours a day, especially in those activities of greater risk, such as speed, or others such as driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, driving distractions, use of mobile phones and use of safety elements (belts, child restraint systems or protective helmet), especially in those sections and points roads that, due to their special characteristics, carry an implicit risk of accidents or are prone to committing this type of infraction, appealing to drivers to become aware of the importance of respecting the established speed limits and strictly complying with traffic regulations , in order to improve your own safety and that of traffic in general.
