The regional government has closed an agreement with the deputies Liarte and Carrera to carry out the accounts, while negotiating to add Cs and Vox
The parliamentary groups of the Regional Assembly presented this Tuesday a total of 225 partial amendments to the Budgets of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia for 2023, which are facing the final phase of their parliamentary process, so that their final approval can be produce next December 29.
The PSOE is the party that has presented the most proposals, a total of 138 of which 80 are addressed to the articles and 58 to the different sections. The deputy of Podemos María Marín also presented 59 amendments (4 to the articles and 55 to the sections), while Pascual Salvador, from Vox, registered 22. PP and Grupo Liberal have registered 6, the majority aimed at corrections of a technical nature in the public accounts.
No amendments were registered by the deputies of the Mixed Group Juan José Liarte and Francisco José Carrera, from the Vox Group. These already have an agreement with the PP for the yes to the bill, since they negotiated with them during the process of elaboration of the Budgets.
Ana Martínez Vidal and Juan José Molina, deputies of Citizens integrated in the Mixed Group, did not present proposals either. In this case, the PP also negotiates with the orange formation to achieve at least one abstention from them in the final vote on December 29. Likewise, there is a dialogue with Vox for the abstention of its deputy. The president of the Community, Fernando López Miras, already approached positions with both formations during the round of contacts that he maintained in the Palacio de San Esteban with the parliamentary spokesmen.

The spokesman for the Socialist Parliamentary Group in the Murcia Regional Assembly, Francisco Lucas, explained that his 138 amendments mean changing the destination of 106.5 million euros.
Lucas highlighted that most of the amendments affect the Ministry of Health, demanding, among other things, the allocation of 12.3 million euros for the hiring of 150 medical specialists; 16 million euros for the Santa María del Rosell hospital in Cartagena; one million euros for the hiring of psychologists in schools and institutes; They also contemplate investments for the construction and expansion of health centers and health infrastructures in Lorca, Las Torres de Cotillas, Mazarrón, Lorquí, Cieza, Los Alcázares, Alhama, Jumilla and Yecla.
Regarding Education and Universities, the amendments presented propose free textbooks as of January 1, 2024 as well as an infrastructure plan for schools and the multi-year Plan to guarantee financing for public universities.
Regarding Infrastructures, one million euros is required for the expansion of the Murcia tramway; 250,000 euros for the Autovía del Norte (Venta del Olivo-Caravaca de la Cruz) and 304,800 euros to complement the Youth Bond rental aid.
Lucas also defended the need to include the ZAL of Los Camachos de Cartagena, “which has disappeared from the regional Budget for 2023 and for which the Socialist Parliamentary Group contemplates ten million euros.”
Other notable amendments consist of improving the wastewater collection and sanitation systems in the Mar Menor basin with five million euros, the creation of the Murcia Region Women’s Institute, the approval and preparation of the natural resource management plans, an increase of 2.6 million euros in the Dependency Law item, as well as 500,000 euros for the San Esteban Site, 550,000 for archaeological excavations in Cartagena and 3.5 million euros for the modernization of tourist infrastructures.
Podemos Amendments
For its part, Podemos presented amendments to the regional Budgets that intend to promote the expansion of the Murcia tramway with a line to the Carmen neighborhood and the extension of the FEVE from Cartagena to Cabo de Palos and the municipalities of the Mar Menor.
They also request to reinforce the emergency personnel, implement free parking in all public hospitals, bring internet to the entire Region by satellite and combat hoaxes about the Mar Menor through a campaign of scientific dissemination.
Vox amendments
On the other hand, Vox’s amendments are aimed “at alleviating the dramatic situation of families and companies in our Region,” according to deputy Pascual Salvador.
«These amendments are intended to support our agriculture and livestock, tourism, include aid to families, especially large ones, support in the field of early care and dependency, introduce improvements in the sanitation network of the municipality of the Mar Menor , measures in the field of mental health, and aid for the self-employed and micro SMEs, as well as cuts in ideological items and those that encourage illegal immigration, “he explained.
