The older brother announces that there will be a pilgrimage of the Holy Relic to the districts in the fall
The brother brothers of Vera Cruz decided to raise their annual fees, which had not been updated for the last 30 years. The initial proposal was to increase them from six to twelve euros, although they were finally set at fifteen euros for those over 18 years of age and five euros for minors. The ordinary town hall held in the basilica began with the prayers of rigor by the rector of the temple, Emilio Sánchez, and then the minutes of previous town halls were read for approval.
The older brother of the Brotherhood, Luis Melgarejo, read the management report for this last year, in which he highlighted the work of the entire team that makes up the Representative Board and the good relations with the Bishopric, the City Council and the Community. He also stressed that the financial year-end of 2021 shows a positive balance thanks to the reopening of the Basilica after the restoration works on the façade and the arrival of pilgrims and visitors. Melgarejo advanced some projects, such as carrying out pilgrimages with the Vera Cruz to the districts of Caravaca for next autumn, the repair of the organ of the Basilica, the making of chimes for the celebrations around the Vera Cruz in the churches of the locality and the strengthening of the social work of the Brotherhood to continue collaborating with institutions and foundations that help those most in need.
The end of the year 2021 was settled with a profit of more than 25,000 euros. From the religious institution, an appeal was made to all the brothers to update their data in the offices of the same, especially to avoid returns of postal shipments that are made and to check bank details.
