For the members of the jury, the four nominations that were eligible for the Pasos 2022 Award deserved to win this award because in each of them, throughout their history, their brothers have understood that together, men and women, we perpetuate and enrich the valuable expression of religiosity carried out by our brotherhoods and fraternities, because faith does not understand gender, and equality must already be a reality in the entire Spanish fraternal sphere.
This Brotherhood, founded in 1986, initially led by men, gradually integrated women to assume roles of responsibility as part of their Government Boards, coming to assume the position of Big Sister.
The Nazarene gang is male and for 25 years the Esperanza gang, which was practically female, has been incorporating men, currently configuring itself as mixed, being directed by both women and men.
The brotherhood has promoted the presence of men in spaces where it was previously reserved only for women in the brotherhoods, and in their activities they have promoted the visualization of the mixed and equal participation of their brothers For this brotherhood, equality is already a reality because in it men and women, without distinction, share all their activities as brotherhoods.
On Saturday, April 23, the scheduled date for the celebration of the tribute acts and the PASOS 2022 Award Ceremony to the Brotherhood of Jesús Nazareno and Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza de Mataró
