If we talk about T.V. seriesthere is no doubt that productions like “House of the dragon”, “The rings of power”, “Andor” and others go on to devour the catalog of their respective streaming platforms when your weekly opening day arrives. Their quality may be debatable, but the great emotion they provoke in their audience is not.
But what about all those other series that are also waiting there for us? Is there none worth our time? The answer is yes, but they are almost hidden.
For this reason, in this note we leave you a brief list of five streaming jewels that you did not see. A brief list with a recommendation for each platform: Netflix, HBO Max, Disney +, Amazon and Apple TV +.
“Atlanta” (Netflix)
A good option if you are looking to see something rare and symbolic. While “Atlanta” begins as the story of three friends who get into the world of rap, the creativity of Donald Glover (“This is America”) and Hiro Murai takes us beyond that.
Great critiques of society tied to African-American culture and many unusual scenarios to laugh, scare and move us in unexpected ways. It is so rare that it even has timeless episodes in which its protagonists do not appear.
“Barry” (HBOMax)
Barry (Bill Hader) is an ex-marine who works as a cold-blooded hitman. But, when he is assigned to kill a stage actor, he discovers that his true passion is acting. Will he be able to separate himself from the dark past that haunts him?
This is a black comedy with great action sequences that tries to break the clichés of the genre. A truly innovative script with 30-minute episodes.
“Cosmos: a spacetime odyssey” (Disney+)
if you are already tired of Marvel and Star Wars series“Cosmos: a spacetime odyssey” is the perfect option to get away from superheroes and space travel unrelated to science.
A docuseries in which Neil deGrasse Tyson, one of the world’s most renowned astrophysicists, leads us to explore the great surprises of our universe and reflect on our own existence.
“Mr. Robot” (Amazon Prime Video)
if you loved Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury in “Bohemian Rhapsody”here you are going to completely ignore him and you are going to value his great acting range.
Cybersecurity engineer by day and vigilante hacker by night. Elliot tries to “save the world” from a great corporate evil while dealing with a mental disorder that causes him to have split personalities.
Severance (Apple TV+)
It is possibly the best series of 2022 (even if the Emmys say otherwise). Science fiction that reminds us of a combination of “The office”, “Black Mirror” and “The twilight zone”.
What if you could divide your work memories from your personal life? What happens when you create two versions of you that inhabit the same mind but have no idea who one or the other is?
