Matt Reeves has confessed that The Batman spent a series of hearing evidence, which are tools used by large studios to help film productions to achieve a product that can be seen -often without problems- by the public to which it is directed. Although some experts consider that these measurements are only used to make the film the way people want it to be and thus increase box office earnings.
How was the case of The Batman with the hearing tests?
During an interview with the Collider website, the director Matt Reeves was consulted about what he learned from the hearing evidence of batman. He replied: “I was very nervous about the first screening of the film since, in addition to the fact that it will offer a very ambitious and complex narrative, the edition was not yet fully ready.”
“…I was thinking, ‘Okay, why did I do this? Why did I decide to do this kind of story?’ And what the first test screening told me was that the audience wanted this. You know, we had the Batmobile chases, we had all that stuff. You can’t make a Batman movie without giving the basic things that people want from a Batman movie.”, Said the director to the medium.
Reeves added: “But I knew we were challenging the audience with this facet of the world’s greatest detective. because it was going to be a very complex narrative. And it turned out that they loved that part, it was one of the things they tasted the best.” According to Reeves himself, these tests helped convince him to follow the path that he had devised for The Batman from the beginning.
