Josep Oliu, president of Banco Sabadell and its Foundation, has presented the XIX Banco Sabadell Foundation Prize for Biomedical Research to the biologist and researcher Elvan Böke, head of the Oocyte Biology and Cell Dormition group at the CRG, and the VIII Prize to Sciences and Engineering to the environmentalologist and researcher Manuel Delgado Baquerizo, leader of the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Functioning Laboratory (BioFunLab) of the IRNAS-CSIC.
Elvan Böke has been awarded for her discoveries on oocyte aging and its potential impact on fertility and reproduction; and Delgado, for their contributions on the soil biome in a context of global climate change.
The award ceremony, which took place this Monday at the Banco Sabadell Corporate Center in Sant Cugat del Vallès, was attended by more than 130 attendees and highlights the work of the award-winners and reaffirms the commitment of the Banco Sabadell Foundation. for recognizing the best scientific talent and giving relevance to the impact of research for the progress and well-being of people.
