Definitive advance for the project with which the Madrid City Council will cover 189 meters from the M-30 to the south of the sales bridge. The works area has just awarded the contract for the drafting and execution of the project to the Temporary Company Union (UTE) led by FCC Construction together with PACSA and works and services TAGA.
The City Council will pay for its works 70,374,975.03 euros, 18% less than the price marked by the Consistory but the most expensive price among the nine companies that were presented to the contest, where there were sales up to 28.6%. FCC, however, obtained the best score in the valuation of the technical project, so it has ended up being proposed as a winner.
The works area has reported that a period of 15 days is now opened for possible resources, after which this contract will be formalized and also that of the Soterramiento of the North Castilian, also awarded at the same time.
The project will involve the execution of a platform on the circunvallation route that will generate an area of 17,000 square meters that will connect pedestrian and landscape the districts of Salamanca and Linear City. In this way, the Park of La Quinta de Fuente del Berro will be directly joined, on the Salamanca side, and the green zone and sports facilities located on the linear city flank.
The space created on the M-30 will connect with the margins through eight roads and will have pedestrian, landscaped and stagnant areas. In addition, children’s games, calisthenics equipment and a small area of outdoor performances with a low -height stands will be installed.
The project will include the redevelopment of some of the streets of both sides of the new platform for better integration and connection. On the flank of Salamanca, Alejandro González Street, the Plaza de la América Español, the Children’s Park of the Fifth of Fuente del Berro and Ramón de Aguinaga street will be remodel.
One of the controversial aspects of this project is the disappearance of 54 trees in the historic Park of La Fuente del Berro, which the City Council will be compensated thanks to the plantation of more than 200 new trees that contemplates the coverage.
The opposition has also criticized that the current project resembles little to the one promised by Mayor Almeida during his last electoral campaign, and creates the budget dedicated by the City Council to connect two neighborhoods currently united by a nearby walkway.
As soon as the beginning of the works, the work is expected to begin the next deprived and extend for two years, until the spring of 2027.
