The horses of Al-Ajban Stables, belonging to His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, scored a hat-trick, under the supervision of Abdullah Al Hammadi and led by Patrick Cosgrave, which was held yesterday at Al Ain Racecourse within the racing festival of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The horse “Buraq” Lias Racing, owned by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, under the supervision of Jean-Claude Picot, and led by Edri de Vries, won the Al-Heli title in the second half, sponsored by Emirates Airlines, for a distance of 1800 metres.
The champion finished the race with a time of 2:02:46 minutes.
Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Vice-President of the Emirates Arabian Horse Association and President of Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club, crowned the winners in the fifth round of 1,400 metres, which was won by “Big Cheese” of Al-Ajban Stables.
Matar Suhail Al Yabhouni, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Mohammed Rashid Al Nasseri, Director General of Al Ain Equestrian Club, Faisal Al Rahmani, Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee, and Lara Sawaya, Executive Director of the Racing Festival of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, participated in the coronation. The race witnessed a large gathering of horse racing enthusiasts, exceeding 4,000 spectators.
The victory of Al-Ajban came through “Ozone Layer”, which was crowned with a rich title in the first half, sponsored by Etisalat, for a distance of 2000 meters, and the winning pony cut the race in a time of 2:18:59 minutes. The second victory came through the “Golden Years” in the Al Khazna race in the third half, sponsored by Al-Masoud Automobiles, for a distance of 1,600 metres, with a time of 1:50:56 minutes.
He completed the Al-Ajban “Big Cheese” triple in the Jimmy race in the fifth half, sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, for a distance of 1,400 meters, recording 1:37:81 minutes.
“AF Ramz”, for Khalifa Matar Muhammad Matar Al Neyadi, and the leadership of Saif Al Balushi, won the Al Khabaisi Award in the fourth round, sponsored by the National Archives, for a distance of 1600 meters, recording 1:48:86 minutes.
The mare “Al-Dhiba” of the National Stables, under the supervision of Hilal Al-Alawi and led by Al-Mu’tasim Al-Balushi, snatched the title of the Al-Wathba Stallions Cup for the owners of the private stables, in the sixth game, sponsored by the National Fodder, for a distance of 1000 meters, recording 1:08:05 minutes.
The horse “Hazeem Al-Thunder”, by Hassan Saleh Al Hammadi, supervised by Ahmed Al-Shamili, and led by Edre de Vries, won the Al Qattara title in the seventh and final run of the evening, sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, for a distance of 1000 meters, recording 1:06:03.
