A shooting at a kindergarten in northeastern Thailand on Thursday left many dead and injured, authorities said.
At least 34 people have died, including 22 children, by the shots with a rifle of a former police officer in a nursery in northeastern Thailand, the emergency services informed Efe.
The last statement from the Police on the event that occurred around noon, local time, also reported 15 injured, eight of them in serious condition.
The 34-year-old suspect, who was separated from the body as a result of drug possession crimes, committed suicide after the attack, the Police reported on his Facebook account.
“We confirm that the criminal shot himself and is dead“, The Police pointed out in an official Facebook profile, while the rescue services pointed out that before taking his own life he also killed his wife and son.
A police spokesman confirmed that The shooting occurred in Nongbua Lamphu province, at the district’s Child Development Center.
The alleged assailant fired an automatic rifle at those present at a nursery school, which generally welcomes children between the ages of 2 and 5, before fleeing in a van.
The images provided by the Police show dozens of bodies scattered throughout different rooms. Many of the injured, the exact number of which is still unknown, have been taken to Nong Bua Lamphu hospital, which has requested “urgently” that citizens donate blood of all typesaccording to local media.

Relatives of the victims went to the compound that was cordoned off by the police, and many of them succumbed to despair, as can be seen in images and videos circulating on social networks.
Users on social networks have already shared videos of the reactions of the inhabitants, who are sorry for the unfortunate event shortly after it happened.
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha reportedly ordered the authorities to arrest the perpetrator as soon as possible. “The prime minister has expressed his condolences over the shooting that resulted in 30 deaths”, they expressed in a statement.
Gun carrying is high in Thailand. However, shootings are considered “rare” in the Asian country.
