WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Tesla Inc has recalled nearly 30,000 Model X cars in the United States over an issue that could cause the front passenger airbag to deploy incorrectly.
The safety device may trigger incorrectly in certain low-speed crash events, the company said.
Tesla said it was not aware of any accidents, injuries or deaths related to the recall.
The issue will be resolved via a remote software update, the company said in a letter sent to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Earlier this month, the automaker recalled more than 40,000 Model S and Model X vehicles due to the risk of losing power steering assistance when driving on rough roads or after hitting a pothole.
