The new Tesla Cybertruck faced a series of postponements and delays before its official launch, it's well known. And now that it is taking its first steps on the market, the first technical problems are also starting to surface: in fact, it seems that the US giant is recalling just under 4,000 examples of its electric pick-up, 3,878 to be precisedue to a mechanical defect.
Tesla Cybertruck Recall
In particular, we talk about a problem it could cause unintended acceleration of the vehicle, increasing the risk of accidents. A few days ago, Tesla itself notified the NHTSA, better known as the Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the organization that deals with safety on US roads, that the accelerator pedal of the Cybertruck could get stuck, thus affecting vehicle performance and operation.
No accidents reported
Fortunately, Elon Musk's automaker has admitted to not be aware of accidents or injuries linked to this malfunction, at least for the moment. Clearly, given the nature of the problem, the usual OTA update cannot be sufficient: the company will in fact have to physically inspect the almost 4,000 recalled Cybertrucks, and will understand if it will be necessary replace or simply rework the accelerator to resolve the defect.
