The Mexican Football Federation (FMF) condemned this Tuesday the violence that was generated in the match last Sunday between Mexico and Qatar in the Gold Cupand asked to work together with CONCACAF and the authorities to eradicate it.

“At the Mexican Football Federation we regret and strongly condemn the acts of violence that arose after last Sunday’s game in Santa Clara. We are fully willing to cooperate and join efforts with Concacaf, the stadiums and local authorities, to prevent these acts are repeated”said the entity.
In the duel between El Tri and Qatar, Fans wearing Mexico jerseys fought in the stands of Levi’s Stadium in Santa ClaraCalifornia (USA).
One of the participants in the brawl pulled out a knife and stabbed the chest of another of the fans, a scene that went viral on social media.

“We are sure that the corresponding instances will take the necessary measures to reach the final consequences against those who are responsible. We wish the speedy recovery of those who were injured”added the governing body of football in Mexico, which ruled on the matter two days after the event.

unfortunate homophobic cry
