Serious road accident in Sant'Antioco, car collides with the fire brigade truck, Rosalba Piscedda dies at 65 years old

A very serious road accident occurred yesterday, Thursday 11 April, along the streets of Sant'Antioco. Unfortunately, a 65-year-old woman, called, suffered the worst Rosalba Piscedda who was in the car with his daughter.

There are three vehicles involved, the first an Opel Corsa with the victim on board 40 year old daughter, the fire brigade truck and also a BMW station wagon. It could be a risky overtaking of the latter that would have taken place caused the serious accident.

According to information disclosed by various local media, the events occurred in the afternoon of Thursday 11 April. Precisely along the state road 126, near the lagoon, at the entrance to the municipality of Sant'Antioco, which is located in the south of Sardinia. The 65-year-old was in the car with her 40-year-old daughter, who in the past worked as a municipal councillor.

When suddenly, for reasons yet to be established by the police, perhaps due to a risky overtaking by a person driving a BMW, they clashed with a fire brigade truck. This vehicle and the Opel Corsa with its women on board ended up off the road and the small car was completely left crushed from the heavy vehicle, which it is overturned.

The death of Rosalba Piscedda after the serious accident

The police and other firefighters intervened on site and worked for a long time to free mother and daughter from the wreckage of their vehicle. Unfortunately the impact is like this violentled to truly heartbreaking consequences.

The doctors who arrived with a medical car and also with an air ambulance were unfortunately unable to do anything for the 65-year-old woman. In the collision with the fire truck he lost his life practically on the spot.

Rosalba's daughter and two firefighters also reported bruises, but none of them appear to be in danger of life. The mayor said about the incident: “I know Rosalba Piscedda's family. Romina's daughter was one of my city councilors during the first legislature. I am deeply saddened and shocked!”
