Chilean Sebastian Rivera was banned from the sport permanently.
Tennis the ethics monitoring body International Tennis Integrity Agency or ITIA announced on Thursday, that the Chilean tennis coach and ex-player Sebastian Rivera has received a lifetime ban from tennis.
According to ITIA, Rivera is guilty of manipulating match results, and no less than 64 “fixes” were revealed in his wake.
“The amount is the highest ever observed by ITIA or its predecessor TIU (Tennis Integrity Unit),” ITIA announced.
Rivera is not allowed to coach, play or participate in official tennis events. He was also fined $250,000.
As a player, Rivera was at best 705th in the men’s ATP professional tennis world rankings.
