Tennis: Paolini knocked out in 2 sets, Swiatek triumphed at Roland Garros
Nothing to do for Jasmine Paolini in the final of the women’s Roland Garros, the second Slam of the season hosted on the Parisian clay. The 28-year-old Tuscan tennis player, No. 15 WTA and 12th seed, already certain of rising to No. 7 in the ranking from Monday, surrendered in two sets to Iga Swiatek: the Polish champion, No. 1 in the world rankings and the scoreboard, won in two sets with a score of 6-2 6-1. For Swiatek this is the fourth success in Paris, the third in a row. Paired with Sara Errani, Paolini will return to the court tomorrow (11.30 am) to challenge the pair formed by the American Coco Gauff and the Czech Katerina Siniakova in the doubles final.
