Former owner of the Cherkizovsky market Telman Ismailov was released from prison in Montenegro and received political asylum in this country. This was announced by his lawyer Marina Rusakova on Friday, October 22.
Earlier, a businessman accused of kidnapping and murders was detained in Montenegro at the request of Russia.

As reported by the portal Vijesti, the decision to release Ismailov was made by the judge of the High Court of Podgorica, Vladimir Novovich.
“With regard to the accused citizen of the Russian Federation and Israel, Telman Ismailov, the decision on detention in an extradition facility, made by a judge of the High Court in Podgorica, is canceled. The accused Telman Ismailov is immediately released, ”the decision reads.
Ismailov was put on the international wanted list in November 2017. The Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested him on charges of organizing two murders.
According to the investigation, he is the organizer of the murder of two entrepreneurs – Vladimir Savkin and Yuri Brylev. He worked out a plan to commit a criminal act together with his brothers Rafik and Vagif Ismailov.
The perpetrator of the crime was Mehman Kerimov. On May 15, 2016, on Novorizhskoe highway, Kerimov fired several times with a pistol at two victims while he was in the car. As a result of the injuries, both men, whom Kerimov was aiming at, died.
Currently, Rafik Ismailov and Mehman Kerimov are in custody. In relation to Telman and Vagif Ismailov, a preventive measure was chosen in the form of detention.
