Telefónica has registered a profit of 989 million euros in the first nine months of the year, 21.7% less than in the same period of 2023when it earned 1,262 million, according to the accounts presented before the market opening to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).
The income from the operator have fallen 2.9% in the third quarter until 10,023 million euros in the last three months as a consequence of the behavior of currencies, while in the accumulated of the first nine months Revenues have reached 30,418 million0.3% less than in the same period of 2023.
The currency depreciation has had a quarterly impact of 429 million euros on revenues of the operator and 159 million euros in the operating result before amortizations (ebitda).
The company income in Spain until September they stood at 9,427 million euros1% more than a year ago, in the midst of the reorganization of the telecommunications sector after the merger of Orange and MásMóvil, which created MasOrange, and the sale of Vodafone Spain to the British fund Zegona.
Besides, Revenues in Germany in the first nine months of the year were 6,286 million0.6% less.
In Brazilthese reached the 7,268 million euros until September2.2% more. The impact of the depreciation of the Brazilian real means that in the third quarter, revenues in this market have fallen by 6.4%.

Spain remains the main market for the telecommunications company by representing 31% of incomefollowed by Hispam, 24%; Brazil, 21% and Germany, another 21%.
For its part, Telefónica Tech recorded revenue growth of 9.5% until September, reaching 1,453 million euros supported by commercial activity in large clients that allowed it to increase the higher value portfolio with more recurring services, but with a slower income conversion.
Dividend confirmation
Telefónica has confirmed the dividend for the fiscal year 2024 consisting of 0.30 euros per sharewhich will be paid in two tranches of 0.15 euros each, in December and June 2025.
In relation to the investmentthe figure at the end of September was at 3,642 million euroswhich means a drop of 4.8% and represents 12% of incomein line with annual forecasts.
Regarding The debt is estimated at 28,748 million euross, 8.3% more than in the same period a year ago.
These results come at a time when the Saudi operator STC is waiting for authorization from the Government to be able to increase its stake in Telefónica to 9.9%, after having announced in September 2023 that it was acquiring a 4 .9% in shares representing Telefónica’s capital and financial instruments over 5%.
