When the flag is green, there is no additional cost beyond what was consumed
The electricity tariff flag for the month of October will remain green, informed the ring (National Electric Energy Agency) this Friday (30.Sep.2022). This means that there will be no charge beyond the amount consumed, due to the favorable conditions of the reservoirs in the hydroelectric plants.
When the green flag is in effect, the consumer has no additional cost on the electricity bill. Continuity means that the conditions for generating electricity in the hydroelectric plants remain favorable.
According to the general director of Aneel, Sandoval Feitosa, the green flag in October is positive, since there is no extra charge for the consumer.
In June, Aneel approved the readjustment of the tariff flags. The increase was 59.5% for the yellow flag, 63.7% for the red level 1 and 3.2% for the red level 2. The new values are valid for the period from July 2022 to June 2023.
Here are the approved values:
- yellow: R$ 2.99 per 100 kWh;
- red level 1: R$ 6.50 per 100 kWh;
- red level 2: R$ 9.79 per 100 kWh.
