The 36-year-old woman has been missing since Monday evening. On the way back from her work in the Aletschbord area from the Belalp to Blatten, she left the path. Because she didn’t come home, her partner called the police. A large-scale search operation started at around 9:30 p.m. that night. Emergency services from the Blatten-Belalp rescue station and dog handlers searched the area for the missing person. The weather and visibility conditions made it difficult to search in the rough terrain, with the use of a helicopter not being possible, the cantonal police said. During the night, the search on foot had to be stopped. Thanks to vacationers, she could now be found.
