Survivors of the shipwreck in which 50 people died on the Canarian route can return to Pakistan

Survivors of the last shipwreck registered on the Canarian route will be able to return to Pakistan. The country’s foreign ministry is coordinating the repatriation of the 22 Pakistani who were rescued alive by the Moroccan authorities on January 16. A team from the Pakistan Embassy in Rabat moved to Dakhla, in the Western Sahara, to attend migrants, after the tragedy in which at least 50 people lost their lives.

The Foreign Ministry activated the Crisis Management Unit (CMU) to participate ” actively ” in the monitoring of the situation, offering support to affected people and maintaining an “ active communication with their families. ”

The Pakistan executive is also facilitating the return to his country of eleven citizens who were in Mauritania, waiting to take the immigration route to the Canary Islands. ” These people have voluntarily chose to return home and will be part of a separate repatriation process, ” says the statement.

” The well -being of Pakistani citizens abroad remains an important priority of the government and will continue working to expand all possible facilitations in this regard, ” the government says.
