NFL star Watson banned for six games for sexual harassment
Cologne Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has been suspended for the first six games of the NFL season for sexual harassment. Disciplinary officer Sue L. Robinson ruled that the 26-year-old had violated the league’s rules of conduct.
US media had previously speculated about a much harsher punishment. Watson is said to have dated numerous women for massages between March 2020 and March 2021, 25 of whom have filed charges. Watson, then still in the service of the Houston Texans, is said to have asked for sexual acts.
Watson, who signed a five-year contract with the Browns for a whopping $230 million guaranteed, will miss games against the Carolina Panthers, New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers, Atlanta Falcons, Los Angeles Chargers and New England Patriots at his new club. Jacoby Brissett should be used as quarterback for him. The season starts on September 9th.
