The deputy of Sumar for Asturias in Congress, Rafael Cofiño, has demanded this Tuesday the suppression of the Huerna toll, on the AP-66, for being a “historic demand” and representing an “offense” for the community.
In a statement, he has shown his “perplexity” at the fact that the Ministry of Transport “commissions studies to eliminate others such as the Adanero” in Madrid, “also ignoring that the European Commission has opened a process against Spain for irregularities in the extension of the Asturian highway concession until 2050.”
To this end, the parliamentarian has registered an initiative for the Ministry to explain what reasons justify the fact that a study has not yet been commissioned to free this route and what specific measures are planned to be adopted “to regularize the situation after the European Commission’s pronouncement.” .
“The suppression of the Huerna toll is a historic demand of Asturian citizens,” said Cofiño, who insisted that the approved bonuses “are insufficient.”
