Yesterday morning, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, witnessed the opening of the Seventh International Forum for Innovation at the University of Sharjah and a ceremony honoring the winners of the Sharjah Chamber Award for Innovators, at Al Razi Hall in the College of Medical and Health Sciences.
Dr. Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, Director of the University of Sharjah, gave a speech in which he thanked and appreciated His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi for his patronage of the forum, and for honoring the opening and honoring ceremony. He pointed out that organizing the forum comes from the University of Sharjah’s belief in the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in advancing development and building a strong and well-established diversified economy that focuses on building talent and capabilities in the fields of innovation.
For his part, Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in his speech, congratulated the students who won the Sharjah Chamber Award for Innovators, stressing that the Sharjah Chamber is keen, through this award, to translate the thought and visions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, a member The Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, which represents a beacon to enrich and stimulate creative and creative efforts in all fields.
During his speech, Al Owais reviewed the stages of development of the award since its launch in 2017 at the University of Sharjah, with 35 projects, up to 456 projects in the project category, 244 projects in the sustainability innovation category, and 76 projects in the research category, from various universities and schools of the state, in addition to the keenness of the Chamber » To raise the prize’s value to 100,000 dirhams in order to enhance its objectives and expand its scope to provide advanced creative and innovative outputs. Dr. Salah Taher, Vice President of the University of Sharjah for Community Affairs, explained in his speech that the University of Sharjah is working to strengthen its relationship with the local and international community, by organizing initiatives, projects, community contributions, awards and joint conferences with institutions to enhance a culture of innovation and creativity among students.
