Primary schools use too many ‘nonsense methods’ that do not allow children to learn to read, write and calculate properly, says the ruling party CDA. Schools should therefore be obliged to teach only with scientifically proven methods.
Professor Anna Bosman, director of the Educational Sciences and Educational Sciences educational institute at Radboud University, also argues that many teaching methods are not good. According to her, teaching methods are not tested enough to determine whether they actually work.
