AAA seeks successor to Carlos Tavares. The Stellantis Group has started the process to find the managerial figure who will take over from the current CEO of the company. The CEO was also included in the search as per practice, with his contract expiring at the end of 2026. At present, Tavares has to face a moment of great tension, with electric mobility struggling to establish itself and the choices made that are not yielding the desired results. In Italy then there is a long-distance war with the institutions on various issues, starting with that of employment.
The new CEO and Stellantis’ problems
Then there is the competition from Chinese cars that is affecting the entire sector and the United States that is struggling to get going. The search process, however, does not exclude that Tavares could remain in the saddle, maintaining his role as CEO even after the natural end of the current contract. Tavares is the first CEO of the Stellantis group, born from the merger between FCA and PSA, of which he was the leader before the partnership with Fiat Chrysler. The Portuguese manager has a long experience in the automotive field, with the first affirmations already at the time of the Renault-Nissan Alliance when he worked alongside Carlos Ghosn.
