A post published by the official account of Spyro the Dragon has raised the hopes of fans of the purple dragon regarding the possible arrival of a new game of the franchise owned by Activision Blizzard and, since a few months, by Microsoft.
The post in question represents the “motto of 2024” and is accompanied by an image portraying a smiling Spyro and the message “You gotta believe!” (you have to believe it!).
In short, no official announcement or anything else, but it was enough to make the excitement grow among the fans, who saw this message as proof of the fact that sooner or later the little purple dragon could return with a new game, a bit like happened for Crash Bandicoot, with possible new features arriving during the year.
Is it better not to have high expectations?
In reality, many were expecting an announcement already last September 9th, the day of Spyro's 25th anniversary, which as we know did not happen. This, however, does not a priori exclude work on a new game, especially considering the big one commercial success of Spyro Reignited Trilogycapable of selling 10 million copies since its launch in 2018.
This means that the little purple dragon created by Insomniac Games still has great appeal to the public and consequently all it takes to return with a new game. In this regard, last year rumors circulated online regarding the development of a new project at Toys for Bob, the authors of the remakes of Spyro and Crash Bandicoot as well as Crash Bandicoot 4, but clearly they should be taken with a grain of salt while waiting. of official communications.
In the meantime we can make do with the addition of Spyro to the roster of playable characters in Crash Team Rumble last month.
