Something that every Spider-Man fan knows is that the superhero has a large number of different costumes. But going to the beginning, the classic suit is made up of the colors red and blue, as that is how Stan Lee, creator of the hero, imagined it.
The combination of these two colors is very common in comics, for example Superman; However, it was Spidey who has popularized it since its first appearance in 1962.

Spider-Man suit features
The classic costume is made of a tight blue fabric, with red gloves, boots and a mask. Peter Parker designed a spider web pattern that covers the red parts of the suit, starting with the mask. The costume also features a black spider in the center of the chest and a larger one on the back. In addition, the mask has plastic lenses, with a chrome cover, which allows Peter to see outside.
Why is Spider-Man’s suit red and blue?
When the Spider-Man comic was released, the prints were on paper and with cheap inks, which is why the creators agreed with Stan Lee to design it with those two tones. Red and blue were bright colors that registered well on that paper, but more importantly, this made the character stand out against the gray concrete of New York.
For the same reason, Spidey’s early enemies also wore colorful outfits. Doc Ock’s green and yellow outfit and Green Goblin’s green and purple are perfect examples.
