Portugal joins the trend of other European governments to cut the working week. The pilot project of António Costa, Portuguese Prime Ministerinvited companies that wish to participate voluntarily in the implementation of the new day.
According to the labor minister of that country, Ana Mendes Godinho, The first step will be to analyze the parameters of the pilot project and guarantee that there is no lack of protection for the workers.

The minister added that the launch date is not yet known, but that several companies are interested and that it will soon be extended to the public sector.
In Spain, due to the agreement reached a year ago by the Government and Más País to implement a pilot plan for a four-day or 32-hour workweek, 50 million euros will be allocated to help companies.
In Belgium they have agreed to introduce in the labor reform a measure that allows employees to concentrate working hours giving the possibility of extending the schedule one or two hours a day to be able to enjoy three days off.
