Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked the leader of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith, for the transfer of T-34 tanks, writes RIA News.
According to the head of the Russian Federation, this is important for educational work with the younger generation. “They are a symbol of victory. Of course, this is important for showing to citizens, for educational work with the younger generation,” Putin expressed his gratitude.
At a meeting in the Kremlin, the Russian leader noted that interaction between the two countries in the field of defense and security is developing. He added that the Russian Federation and Laos have scientific and humanitarian ties.
Earlier, Uralvagonzavod announced the preparation of more than 20 units of rare armored vehicles for the Victory Parade in St. Petersburg, Nizhny Tagil and Chelyabinsk. Specialists prepared T-34 and IS-3 tanks, as well as ISU-152 and SU-100 self-propelled guns.
