Nearly one year after Diego Maradona’s death, on November 25, his children authorized an auction of some of the former football player’s possessions. According to Argentine newspaper Clarín, the auction will be held on December 19 to pay off debts.

Among the items to be auctioned are two BMWs, one with Maradona’s signature on the windshield valued at $165,000 and the other at $225,000, a letter written by Fidel Castro and a house in Villa Devoto, which Maradona gave as a gift to her parents in the 1980s, valued at $900,000. In addition, there is also an apartment in Mar del Plata valued at $65,000.

A real estate company will be bidding in the next few days for sites that will allow interested parties to bid. The auction will be held over the internet and will be open to the entire world.
According to Maradona’s children, Diego, Giannina, Dalma, Jana and Diego Fernando, only items that have no sentimental value will be auctioned. The auction is organized by businessman Adrián Mercado.
