Mass high-quality school education continues to develop in Moscow. So that the capital’s schoolchildren can choose a profession in advance, prepare for entrance examinations and enter the university or college of their dreams, a number of well-proven tools will be used in the capital’s schools, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in his Telegram channel.
The first of these will be workshops on preparing for the Unified State Exam, where high school students will be able to study in small groups formed in accordance with their level of preparation, gradually practicing solving exam tasks.
“Eleventh grade graduates will have completed most of the school curriculum subjects by February 1st. And in recent months, at least 40% of study time has been devoted to practical preparation for the Unified State Exam – in small groups and according to individual study plans,” wrote Sergei Sobyanin. According to the mayor, this approach will help schoolchildren overcome their fear of exam tests and, ultimately, successfully pass exams.
In addition, the pre-professional education program in Moscow schools will be further developed. Pre-professional classes will be developed in the capital's schools, in which students receive in-depth preparation for their chosen profession in advance. In the current academic year, a unified standard of education has been introduced in the capital’s schools in medical, engineering, business, psychological and pedagogical, media and IT classes. It provides schoolchildren with in-depth study of specialized subjects, mandatory special courses in their chosen specialty, balanced educational programs, as well as practical acquaintance with their future profession – excursions to specialized organizations, meetings with qualified specialists.
“The goal for the next five years is to create conditions for training in pre-professional classes of all directions in every district of Moscow. It doesn’t matter whether a student lives in Degunin or Maryino, in Kuntsevo or Metrogorodok, he should be able to prepare for the profession of an engineer or doctor as close to home as possible,” noted Sergei Sobyanin.
