Shipping companies Viking Line’s new vessel Viking Glory arrived in Turku from China

The new vessel is 222.5 meters long and has room for 2,800 passengers.

Viking Linen the new ship Viking Glory arrived in Turku on Sunday. Behind the turn of the year is the voyage from Xiamen, China, where the ship was built at the Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry.

Viking Glory will start operating on the Turku-Mariehamn-Stockholm route in early March. According to Viking Line, the new vessel consumes up to ten percent less fuel than the smaller Viking Grace, which was once awarded the world’s most environmentally friendly.

Viking Glory can use sulfur-free liquefied natural gas as its fuel and later also biogas.

The new vessel is 222.5 meters long and has room for 2,800 passengers.
