Mexico City.- Mexico City’s head of government, Martí Batres, will be part of Claudia Sheinbaum’s next cabinet, the virtual president-elect announced.
In an interview upon leaving the transition house, Sheinbaum confirmed that Batres will work with her, but did not reveal in what position within the federal government.
“With Martí, we are seeing how he is going to help me, I will tell you later,” he said aboard his vehicle, after meeting with Batres at the transition house.
-What did they agree on? he was asked.
“I’ll tell you later,” the Morena member repeated.
-Are you going to accompany her in the cabinet? he was asked.
“Yes, he will come to work with me. I will tell you (in which department),” he replied.
Sheinbaum, who was replaced by Batres when she sought the presidency, announced that Batres’ presentation would take place next week.
“There won’t be so many Thursdays left (before the change of government), so I think I’ll introduce someone else every day, if not all of them together,” he added.
