Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is the protagonist of a video comparison with the original Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrificecreated by ElAnalistaDeBits in order to underline the technical differences between the two titles developed by Ninja Theory.
Substantially different projects, it’s clear: the first chapter was produced independently by the English team, with a therefore reduced budget which however did not constitute much of an obstacle compared to the creativity of the authors; while the sequel arrived under the aegis of Microsoft.
More of an experience than a game, according to Digital Foundry, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 stands out compared to the previous chapter in terms of the visual quality of all assets and effects, which accomplishes a very clear step forward.
The lighting, in particular, takes advantage of the sophisticated technologies made available byUnreal Engine 5 to give us truly realistic and evocative glimpses: an aspect that in the first Hellblade appears decidedly less convincing.
This comparison, however, also highlights the extraordinary work that Ninja Theory managed to do with Senua’s Sacrifice, considering all the limitations of that project.
