Sabotage Studio, author of the role-playing game inspired by the classics Sea of Starshas released a new trailer showing the mode of navigationa classic RPG mechanic that has been lost over time.
The video of Sea of Stars is very short, only seven seconds, like many others shown by the developers on their official YouTube channel. The footage shows a classic-looking ship, in a sea with various islands, made up of rock, grass and trees. Accompanying the sequence there is music, relaxing and cheerful, which allows you to perceive the beauty of maritime exploration.
There navigation in the overworld (or overmap) is a mechanic that has been lost over time. The classic RPGs in fact proposed an open world map in which to move and, usually after a first phase of the game, a means to explore the seas (and then to explore the skies) was unlocked. With the move to more graphically massive games, however, the concept of the overmap has largely been lost and survives in very few games. However, Sea of Stars takes inspiration from the classics and therefore does not forget this mechanic.
Not long ago, we also saw videos of new characters and Sea of Stars camping.
