“I would like to point out that in Italy, for many years, breast cancer screening has been one of those offered free of charge by the national health system, with participation which, unfortunately, varies greatly from region to region. It is important to make women understand, when the request arrives, how important it is to comply. It’s a shame that there isn’t even greater compliance with screening. Women from the South must participate in screening as happens, to a greater extent, in the Center and North”. Thus the Minister of Health Orazio Schillaci, on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Health Village of the Race for the Cure this morning at the Circus Maximus, in Rome.
“There are regions that perform more or less well – remarked the minister – We must work to ensure that no one is left behind”.
