New year, new season, new project: after returning officially two years ago, Honda is preparing for 2022 with many new features and is ready to unveil the bike with which it will compete in the season that will begin in just over two months. The HRC team will remove the veils from the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade on February 15th directly from Japan, at 10 am Italian.
The team is counting on two young talents for this new season, both from the world championship. Xavi Vierge and Iker Lecuona, both making their debut in Superbike in 2022, will line up on the starting grid in the series-derived world championship. The former comes after his experience in Moto2, while the latter lands from MotoGP. The two Spaniards have already had a small taste of the new adventure during two test sessions in which they already showed good potential.
After a 2022 season of ups and downs, Honda therefore restarts with an entirely renewed line-up and already seems to have started on the right foot, the balance of the December and January tests in Jerez de la Frontera is positive and the days on the track they gave excellent feedback to the team and drivers. There are only a few days left before the two CBRs that will take to the track this year are unveiled, but before the lights go out, the Superbike will have other days of testing in which Vierge and Lecuona will be able to continue to familiarize themselves with the production derivatives.
