Died Russian and Soviet writer-satirist, playwright, screenwriter and TV presenter Viktor Koklyushkin, according to Vesti.ru.
Koklyushkin, whose monologues at different times were read by such humorists as Vladimir Vinokur, Evgeny Petrosyan, Klara Novikova and Efim Shifrin, died at the age of 76 due to acute heart failure. The time and place of the funeral have not yet been announced.
The writer was born on November 27, 1945 in Moscow. In his youth, Koklyushkin worked as an engineer for the protection and restoration of historical and cultural monuments, a proofreader, a commandant at a military enlistment office and even a mechanic at a factory. At the age of 36, he graduated from the higher theater courses of GITIS, and only two years later he first appeared on stage and took part in the Around Laughter program. Then the satirist became famous for his famous monologues, including the sketch “Spring”, which tells about an annoying grandmother and her grandson. Other famous monologues by Koklyushkin include Odnoklassniki, Women’s Consultation, Rehearsal, Bust, and Translator.
In 1983, Efim Shifrin performed for the first time his famous monologue “Hello, Lucy!” Subsequently, Regina Dubovitskaya invited Koklyushkin to the “Full House”. He also appeared in other humorous programs, such as “Crooked Mirror”, “Humor Club”, “Laugh is Permitted”, “Izmailovsky Park” and “Smehopanorama”. The satirist joked that he realized his calling when, at the age of four, he wrote an indecent word on the fence, and an unknown man chased him. In one of his works, the writer recalled that he was not “beaten”, but taught an important lesson:
In 1969, the writer began to publish his stories in the “Club of 12 Chairs” in the “Literaturnaya Gazeta”, as well as in other newspapers and magazines. Later, on the stage of the Variety Theater, his plays “The Round Moon”, “Photography for Memory” and “Three Questions” were performed, some of his miniatures were released as collections. Koklyushkin’s stories were translated and published in Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Germany, Bulgaria. In total, the writer has released more than a dozen works.
In parallel with his literary activities, Viktor Koklyushkin continued to work on television. He created and produced the television show “Have you called the comedian?” with the participation of Efim Shifrin, and also wrote the script for the programs “It was winter”. Koklyushkin was the author of the script for the film “Uncle Vanya and Others” and participated in the creation of the ten-episode animated series “The Magnificent Gosha”. The project was released by the creative association “Ekran” – for the entire time not a single word was spoken in it.
During his life, the satirist received many awards. He was twice a laureate of the All-Union Contest in Colloquial Genres, was awarded the Youth Prize and the Golden Calf Prize established by the Literaturnaya Gazeta editorial board.
In a conversation with Gazeta.Ru, comedian Alexander Morozov toldthat recently Koklyushkin suffered from problems with his hand. Morozov did not explain what kind of ailment he was talking about, but noted that because of him the satirist “toiled and stopped going to concerts.”
Viktor Koklyushkin was married to film critic and writer Olga Zlotnik. From her, the writer has a son, Yang. Koklyushkin also has a daughter Elga from his first marriage with Lyubov Sepp.
