The shuttle is the result of the agreement between the Municipality and the Informadisabili citizen counter
Santa Margherita – Kicks off tomorrow, Sunday 10 October, in Santa Margherita, the new “social transport” service, which fills the great lack of any public service, on holidays, in the most populous areas of the city, San Siro and Quartiere degli Ulivi. The shuttle is the result of an agreement between the Municipality and the Informadisabili citizen counter, which makes the vehicle available. For a first access, citizens can use the service by contacting the Social Services of the Municipality. Subsequently, they will be able to book at a dedicated telephone number: 0185 205361 or 335 1851349, calling at least 24 hours before (tomorrow, 10 October, this procedure will not be needed).
“The purpose of the initiative – explains Antonio Cucco, president of the Paratetraplegics Association, which is headed by the Informadisabili Sportello di Santa Margherita Ligure – is to be able to get out of the house, even on Sundays and public holidays, people who do not have the means available to move and who at the same time need to reach the city center, perhaps to go to mass rather than to the holy field. The service will initially start in the experimental phase“.
On the way out, departure from the pitch in via Sbarbaro near the shrine of the Madonna di Montallegro at 9:15 am. On the way back, departure from Piazza Mazzini, near the Oratory, at 12:00.
“I am grateful and proud that our Community system and collaborates with the administration to provide support and help in covering as much as possible the needs of people”, comments Emanuele Cozzio, Deputy Mayor of Santa Margherita Ligure with responsibility for Personal Services. Natale Valle, on behalf of the San Siro neighborhood committee, thanked the architects, commenting: “We are really happy with this initiative, which we hope will go through in the best possible way, in the hope that many people can benefit from it”.
