The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, spoke this Thursday from Brussels, at the conclusion of the European Council meeting, for the first time on the investigation opened by the Supreme Court (TS) against the State Attorney General, Álvaro García Ortiz . The head of the Executive, who has said he “respects” the “position” of the TS, has asserted that what García Ortiz has done “are two things: persecute the criminal and, secondly, combat disinformation and a hoax.”
After his close defense of García Ortiz, Sánchez has assured that the investigation that has been opened by the High Court “allows us to remember the origin of all this. What is it that the chief of staff [Miguel Ángel Rodríguez] of the president of the Community of Madrid, at the time the partner of this confessed criminal, spreads a hoax to place the lie on the side of the State Attorney General’s Office.
Sánchez, as on many other occasions due to Alberto González Amador’s tax fraud, has asked for the resignation of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and has also demanded that the leader of the Popular Party (PP), Alberto Núñez Feijóo, demand “responsibilities” from him. whom he has sarcastically defined as “his boss.”
“In political terms,” Sánchez argued from the European Council building, “what we have to ask ourselves as a society is when the Popular Party is going to ask for explanations and demand responsibilities from the president of the Community of Madrid, who He is the partner of a confessed criminal, who has defrauded the Treasury, as he himself has acknowledged, and who has also profited and enriched himself from masks during the pandemic.
