Sanchez saves Inter in the recovery of a super Bremer against Toro

The weekend in which all the Scudetto rivals responded presently seemed destined to end in the worst way for Inter. Without the Brozovic lighthouse, the Italian champions in the first half go under (Bremer) and then are pardoned by the referee Guide, who at 36 ‘does not sanction a foul by Ranocchia on Belotti with a penalty. But in the final with the strength of the nerves, more than with the game, they find the goal of equalization with that Sanchez who during the week had taken all the blame for the elimination from the Champions League. But not even the Nerazzurri can rejoice too much, as for the first time in months they are no longer masters of their own destiny. Just like in the first leg, when he had scored on Vidal (Barella disqualified), the more physical Buongiorno sends Rodriguez to the bench, confirming that Juric expects a battle more by sword than by foil. In the middle of the field Lukic returns, alongside Mandragora. Pobega advanced on the trocar with Brekalo, behind Belotti. Inzaghi replaces De Vrij with Ranocchia, prefers Darmian to Dumfries and the Vecino card is played to replace Brozovic. In attack, Dzeko and Lautaro are back in pairs.

First half

Immediately muscular and tactical match, first Belotti (outside the net) and then Dzeko (Berisha is there), with Inter adapting without Brozovic. While the Croatian usually lowers himself on the center line to set, with his arms widening, Vecino instead remains on the line of Barella and Calha. However, the study phase does not last long. At 12 ‘Handanovic does not risk the grip and smanaccia over the crossbar, on the corner in the scrum the ball reaches Bremer who cannot make a mistake from two meters. The game is uncorked, Belotti commits Handanovic, Berisha is exalted on Lautaro’s gored, as a free kick from Calhanoglu. The problem for Inzaghi, however, lies in the middle of the field, where the grenades are good at attacking. Lukic and Mandragora asphyxiate Calha and Barella, the game almost never even finds amplitude on the outside and the two strikers see the ball only on long balls to override the median. It is no coincidence that the other great opportunity, at 30 ‘, arrives on a poisonous square by Calhanoglu on which Berisha makes another save. Possible turning point in the 36th minute: Ranocchia in the area lets Belotti take the time and then touches him on the right foot. Guide plays and even after the audio consultation with Massa al Var does he change his mind. Inter are grateful, because going at half-time two goals down would have made the difference.

The former Verona, however, gives new verve to the Nerazzurri, who in the 60 ‘miss the equalizer with a header from Dzeko on a cross from Vecino. Toro is physiologically out of breath, but now that he has room to restart, he uses a hole to put Brekalo in front of Handanovic. Great save from Gosens, while the goalkeeper immediately overtook Izzo, left alone on a corner again. Inzaghi at 67 ‘the second slot is played with Vidal and Sanchez for Vecino and Lautaro, with Calha in the middle. Vidal engages Berisha, Correa for Calha is the card of despair in a sort of 4-2-3-1 with Correa and Darmian offensive outside. Juric responds with Ansaldi and Rodriguez for Vojvoda and Buongiorno.
