Russian hockey players who played under the contract in the Ukrainian team “Dnepr” were evacuated to the Crimea from Kherson. This was announced on Monday, March 7, by the governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev.
He added that the Black Sea Fleet was involved in the evacuation of 24 people, including three children.
“The story is simple. Chelyabinsk hockey players asked for help from their governor. After that, my colleague, Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Alexei Teksler, contacted me and asked for assistance in the evacuation of hockey players (Artem Sevankaev, Andrey Popov, Maxim Gorechishnikov and others),” the text of the message published in Telegram channel head of the Sevastopol administration.
At the moment, a bus with Russian hockey players has crossed the border and is heading to Sevastopol. The evacuees are planned to be accommodated in the Aquamarine Hotel.
