The Russian Federation is not considering an attack on European countries, despite constant statements from them to the contrary. Russian Ambassador to The Hague and Permanent Representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Vladimir Tarabrin said this in an interview on Monday, February 5.
“I would like to remind you that Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin directly and unequivocally stated: our country has no interest in fighting with NATO states – there are no territorial disagreements, no geopolitical or economic meaning,” Tarabrin said in an interview with “RIA News”.
The ambassador emphasized that instead of Moscow building a dialogue in the right direction, Western countries prefer to “always intimidate their own citizens and support anti-Russian paranoia.”
Earlier that day, Prime Minister of the German federal state of Hesse Boris Rein said that Europe needs to create a defensive alliance to strengthen its security. In addition, the German politician added that the nuclear arsenal can be used to contain the Russian Federation.
As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov pointed out, the European Union is creating an image of Russia as an enemy in order to divert attention from economic problems.
On January 22, it was reported that German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that Germany should prepare for war with Russia, without discounting this possibility. According to Pistorius, it is necessary to form a German brigade in the Baltics that would become “fully combat-ready” by 2027. He noted that, according to experts, the country has three to five years of armament that needs to be actively used.
Before this, on January 15, the leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot, said that Germany needed to start military action against Russia to instill fear among its own people, thereby avoiding a social explosion. At the same time, ex-Bundestag deputy and political scientist Waldemar Gerdt said that the German authorities are scaring their own population with a war with Russia so that they are distracted from social and economic problems within the country.
The West regularly incites hysteria among the citizens of their countries, warning of an allegedly imminent war with Russia. Western European media and experts refer to the successes of the Russian military in Ukraine and prophesy that in the future Russia will “set off to conquer the whole world.” However, Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated that there is nothing of the kind in the Russian Federation’s plans, but the country is ready for any attacks from NATO.
