Robert Iniestavocalist and composer of Extreme and band leader Robereported this Sunday that he feels “better” after the pulmonary thromboembolism which forced him to urgently cancel the last two concerts of his tour in Madrid. However, the artist has not set a new date for these shows, since it is unknown when he will be “in a position” to resume them.
The artist from Extremadura has published a statement on their websiteaccompanied by a video with scenes from his last tour, which was canceled on November 15, a few hours before his performance at the WiZink Centerdue to the pulmonary thromboembolism he suffered. This health setback has generated a large number of reactions on social networks.
“Hello, people! First of all, we want to thank you for the expressions of affection that you have sent us. The second thing, to tell you that I am already home and that I am better. What I can’t get over is the fucking anger “I’m sorry I couldn’t finish the tour as planned. We didn’t want to talk about postponements because I don’t know when I’ll be able to,” Robe’s statement begins.
After thanking everyone who has helped his concerts “on this beautiful tour” and who they have enjoyed so much, the former Extremoduro vocalist assures that “Nothing takes away the desire to return“. The statement concludes with an emotional message: “See you always! Kisses and hugs.”
An unexpected goodbye
At 62 years old, Robe Iniesta (Plasencia1962) is considered one of the great icons of Spanish music, especially for his fundamental role as vocalist and composer of Extremoduro. From the founding of the band in 1987 until its dissolution at the end of 2019, he was the face and soul of the group.
His new project, Robe, began his recording career with What flutters in our heads in 2015. This was followed by a very productive period that included a live album, Welcome to the storm (2018), and three new studio albums: Destrozares, songs for the end of time (2016), Maieutics (2021) and The air takes us away (2023).
