Ganchev: residents of the controlled part of the Kharkov region will be issued Russian passports
Residents of the part of the Kharkov region taken under the control of the Russian Armed Forces will be issued Russian passports. This was stated by the head of the Russian military-civil administration (MCA) of the region, Vitaly Ganchev, writes RIA News.
He recalled that residents of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics (LPR and DPR) changed their passports to Russian ones or immediately obtained Russian citizenship. “Therefore, based on this experience, we decided that if people want to acquire Russian citizenship, we should immediately issue them a Russian passport,” Ganchev said.
He added that in the Kharkov region there are also schools that can issue children certificates of completion according to the Russian model.
Earlier, Ganchev called for giving residents of the Kharkov region the opportunity to speak out about how they see their own future.
Before this, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that there were no plans to take control of Kharkov. At the same time, he explained the offensive of Russian troops in the region by the need to create a sanitary zone in this territory, since the Ukrainian Armed Forces “continue to shell residential areas of the border territories, including Belgorod.”
