The strongest, not just on the track
It's written Red Bull, it reads perfection. The team from Milton Keynes in China has demonstrated once again that it has total control of the championship, not only thanks to the best car on the grid (the RB20) which is entrusted to the best driver in the world (Max Verstappen). The Austrian team's further winning weapon is found in the pits and is made up of mechanics who change tires every weekend on the cars of the Dutch champion and Sergio Perez. In Shanghai, as had already happened in Suzuka, the mechanics of the bull bulls were impeccable.
Perfection in pit stops
The four stops made by the team directed by Christian Horner on their two single-seaters they were the absolute fastest of the race. It's about the second consecutive poker after the one made in Suzuka. What is impressive is not only the perfect execution of the single stop, but theincredible continuity of performance of the mechanics at each stop: the execution times of the tire changes are as precise as Verstappen's race pace.
1.9, 2.0, 2.0 and 2.1: these are the timed times of the four pit stopswith also the additional difficulty of having implemented the so-called this time 'double stack', that is, the double parking of the two cars one behind the other. The execution was perfect, allowing Perez – who arrived on the pitch second – not to waste even a moment 'tailing' Verstappen. After five GPs in the season the nine fastest pit stops of 2024 are all Red Bull branded. At the moment the competition can do nothing but bow their heads and applaud.
