Some may find it strange, but there is a phenomenon known as fish rain, something that occurs in certain regions of the world and now it has happened no more and no less than in Yasuja city in the province of Boyer-Ahmad in western Iran. What happened is that a waterspout has been generated in the Persian Gulf, pulling the fish that were right at the top of the sea and then being thrown in different directions.
Here you can see the moment captured live by the media in that region:
We explain more about these phenomena:
The “rain of fish” phenomenon is a rare event that has been reported in various parts of the world throughout history. It refers to the sudden and seemingly inexplicable fall of fish or other aquatic animals from the sky during a storm or specific weather conditions.
In the specific case of Iran, there have been reports of fish rain in some areas of the country. However, the scientific explanations behind this phenomenon vary and may include factors such as:
– Tornadoes or waterspouts: In some cases, tornadoes or waterspouts can pick up fish from nearby bodies of water, such as rivers, lakes or seas, and transport them significant distances before releasing them on land during a storm.
– Transport by birds: Some reports suggest that birds can transport fish in their beaks from bodies of water to land. If these birds are caught in a storm or adverse weather conditions, they may release the fish they are carrying.
– Strong winds: Strong winds associated with storms or atmospheric phenomena can lift water from shallow bodies of water and carry fish into the air, before dropping them onto dry land during a storm.
You have to keep in mind that this occurs due to heavy rain, so it is something that arises naturally, but it is not that common.

Author’s note: It’s a little strange to see how the poor fish fall directly into the streets and into the cars, that indicates how strong the storm is over there. We will have to keep up to date with the news.
